FOUNDER AND OWNER

I'm Tegan, a North Carolina licensed CPA with more than a decade in public accounting.

Most of that time was spent with business owners who knew their operations inside and out, but were making significant decisions on financial information that was incomplete, out of date, or never properly explained to them. Bookkeeping kept getting treated as a filing obligation instead of the operational tool it should be.

Perrywinkle Accounting was built to change that. I work best in focused, one-on-one relationships where accuracy, education, and consistency matter more than volume. My goal is for you to understand your numbers well enough to trust them, and to act on them with confidence

Britney was born and raised in Asheville and spent nearly 20 years managing a seasonal hospitality business before joining Perrywinkle. She keeps the day-to-day bookkeeping and administration running. Outside work she makes stained glass.

We're based in Lake Lure, North Carolina. Here before Hurricane Helene, here after. Most of our work happens remotely and we’re built for it. Our secure document exchange, recorded walkthroughs, and flexible schedule support US companies nationwide. For neighbors across Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina, we're close enough to meet at your table when a conversation calls for it.

Why the “y” in Perrywinkle?

I am often asked where I came up with the name for my business. Ultimately, it is the biggest "thank you" to my Dad for providing me with a wonderful education and work ethic. Where he's from, it's tradition for friends to pick out a nickname. Growing up, his last name was "Perry," and you couldn't go to the beach near his home without seeing hundreds of periwinkles attached to the rocks — and thus, his friends chose his nickname!

I am also fascinated by the Fibonacci sequence, a pattern found in nature everywhere from the spirals of seashells to the arrangement of leaves. Each number in the sequence builds on the one before it, creating a harmonious progression. For me, this natural rhythm is more than just a beautiful pattern, it’s a reminder of how steady growth and balanced steps lead to lasting success.
